Fav Finds 2

March has been a rather hard month for humanity, consumed mostly by fears of the horrors of war in Ukraine and solidarity with the people affected.

There have been some significant launches of legal tech initiatives and databases, making the space easier to navigate, which made the doomscrolling a little more bearable.

1. Dead Lawyers Society 🇺🇦

As the aggression of Russia against Ukraine continues, it is always the best time to help. Legal Technologists are doing their best, too. Once Ukrainian legal tech group with the coolest name, Dead Lawyers Society, now works on collecting the evidence of war crimes commited in Ukraine and documenting the #BaratWar.

If interested in some of the international initiatives, you can also see my post on Ukraine-focused legal tech initiatives (and let me know if more should be added).

2. LegalTechHub

Jeroen Plink and Nicola Shaver launched a legal tech solutions database, which shows the sheer amount of legal tech solutions out there. It is great to navigate and I browse through it like 2002 IKEA catalogue.

It was about time that the legal tech space gets its Yellow Pages. I hope that more content and demos will pop up.

3. Claustack

The team behind oneNDA*, spearheaded by Electra Japonas and Roisin Noonan (Full disclaimer: I am a huge fan of oneNDA!), has launched Claustack. Claustack is an open source platform where lawyers can collaborate on contract clauses to create market standards, and I am there for it.

I usually hate when someone says this is market standard, because it is sometimes quite an arbitrary occurence, but I am willing to think that this community will change my mind. We need more open source & transparent law.

*For those of you who don’t know oneNDA yet – it is a club based on – you guessed it – one NDA template that is acceptable to everyone. Rule no. 1: Never negotiate oneNDA.

Less time spent on unconstructive negotiation of a completely standard document? Legal Innovation lvl 5000.

4. Doc Auto

Staying on the topic of databases – the fantastic BAM! Legal have put together a groundbreaking document automation database, including their favourite picks.

As you can see from simple scrolling, the space is packed and a little overwhelming. BAM! Legal are the frontrunners on the market, and are doing a great job helping to navigate around doc auto. Huge kudos to Catherine and her team!

5. I did 365+ days on Duolingo!

This is a personal one – yay me! I am really happy about this little achievement of mine, and excited to get better every day.

On top of that, I take my daily Duolingo lesson as a reminder, that you can make something hard easy if you are interested in making it enjoyable for your user.

If you want to join my little language learning support group, I am doing my owl whispers as @Barundipities.

Any tips?

Did you find anything interesting that I didn’t mention?

Let me know in the comments!
